DALNET Board Approves Selection of Ex
Libris Systems
At a specially held Board meeting in December, the DALNET Board of Directors reviewed and approved the Final Report
of the RFP Task Force. The Task Force was commended for their
work and thoughtful assessment. The final report recommended the
selection of the Ex Libris Alma library services platform (LSP) and
Primo discovery interface. DALNET has now signed a letter of
understanding with the Ex Libris company and has begun work on
contracting. Planning and preparation work for a highly
anticipated 2016 migration to the new hosted system has begun.
The DALNET office will be working with Ex Libris and DALNET
Project Managers for developing and implementing a project plan for the
migration. Detroit Public Library and Wayne State University plan to remain on their current separate systems. More information coming soon!

The Cloud Catalog: One Catalog to Serve Them All
"So
how do institutions that supply nearly half of all the books read in
the U.S. end up so invisible on the web? Well, it’s not from a lack of
customers, that’s for sure."
